A large CNC Metal Mill I worked on designing and assembling during my stay in Turkey.
I was mainly responsible for design of parts as well as the assembly which I did mostly using Solidworks. I was given some rough Paper sketches of how the desired end product should look like as well as dimensional requirements. I calculated and designed the parts accordingly.
The 3 Axis machine used a total of 4 ball screw drive shafts to drive the axis combined with 6 linear rails. The majority of the body was laser cut then bent to shape. The body is mostly held together through welding. A large Servo motor sits at the top of the Z axis to drive it up and down.
Parts and assembly were made within Solidworks.
